Rumors about Henry Cavill's potential DC return as Superman have kicked up a flurry of excited reactions from fans. In 2013, WB launched the DCEU through Zack Snyder's Superman movie Man of Steel with Cavill as the face of the franchise. The actor's turn as Clark Kent/Kal-El won him international recognition, and he soon returned to reprise his role in the 2016 follow-up Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Afterward, he also starred alongside an ensemble of superheroes in 2017's Justice League, before making his supposedly final DCEU appearance in the 2021 director's cut of the same film.
