John Boyega addresses rumors that he could be the next James Bond. After the first franchise installment back in the 1960s, Bond has now featured in 25 feature films, most recently played by Daniel Craig. Craig began his tenure as 007 in 2006 with Casino Royale and said goodbye to the role with last year's No Time To Die. In an unprecedented move, the film ended with Craig's Bond definitively dying, putting the future of the franchise very much up in the air.
Boyega, meanwhile, is several years removed from a very different franchise. The British actor rose to fame playing Finn in 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Boyega would ultimately reprise his role for both Star Wars: The Last Jedi in 2017 and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019. Since then, however, the actor has maintained a lower profile, appearing mostly in smaller projects. With rumors swirling around who the next 007 could be, names like Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, and Henry Cavill are frequently at the top of fans' lists to take on the iconic role. As for whether Boyega would be interested in playing the next Bond, the actor has a fairly definitive response.
