The development of LEGO Fortnite has been fascinating to observe. While it launched in a stable and fulfilling state, Epic Games has been gradually iterating on the outing, adding fishing earlier in the year. Now it’s preparing its next major update, scheduled to deploy on 26th March: Mechanical Mayhem, which brings a trio of vehicle builds to the outing.
You’ll be able to construct three types of car: a Speeder, an Offroader, and a Hauler. You’ll need certain items in your inventory to unlock the recipes, but vehicles can be completely customised how you like, as long as they’re made up of some key components, like an engine, wheel, and seat. Once you’ve built your car, you’ll need to refuel it using biomass recycled from a Compost Bin.
It all sounds like a ton of fun, and the update is also adding a couple of other key items, such as an Illuminator and a Wrench. You can find out more on Fortnite’s official website, as well as a full list of skins which are finally getting free LEGO alternatives. Will you be building some new wheels this week? Okay, time to head back into it then, I guess.
Did they ever address how wonky the build controls were? It wasn't fun having to get the PERFECT alignment on things, or that changes in terrain severely hampered where you could place things.
