Baldur’s Gate 3 players will soon have the ability to change the way that their character looks mid-game.
Currently, once players have completed character creation at the start of the game, there’s no way to change the physical features of your character. While you can change your character’s armour sets freely, things like haircuts, and physical characteristics are locked.
However, this won’t also be the case, as the ability to change how your character looks after starting the game is “being cooked,” according to Larian director of publishing Michael Douse.

Larian has been quick to respond to issues cropping up in Baldur’s Gate since the massive RPG was launched earlier this month. Hotfixes have been rolling out quickly. However, larger features like this will likely take slightly longer.
It’s been confirmed that the hotfixes and quality-of-life improvements that have been added to the PC version of the game since launch will be rolled into the PS5 version when that releases in September.
Since its release, Baldur’s Gate 3 has been lauded by players and critics. The game’s first reviews have even seen it surpass The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as the highest-rated game of 2023, according to review aggregator Metacritic.
The translation team behind Baldur’s Gate 3 has apologized and committed to change after it left a significant portion of the translation team out of the game’s credits.
