Ahead of the upcoming debut of Creature Commandos, it seems like DC Studios may have already found its next animated project in the form of .
According to TheInSneider, DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation are reportedly developing an animated film adaptation of The Jurassic League, based on Daniel Warren Johnson and Juan Gedeon’s six-part comic book series of the same name. The untitled project will be produced by DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran.
Published in 2022, The Jurassic League takes place in an alternate reality where Earth is still in its prehistoric era. The story transformed popular DC Characters into anthropomorphic dinosaurs, including Superman as a Brachiosaurus, Batman as an Allosaurus, and Wonder Woman as a Triceratops. The untitled movie is reportedly being written by Brian Lynch (The Secret Life of Pets, Minions).
“You know the story: an infant escapes the destruction of its home planet and is deposited on Earth to be raised by human parents. A goddess from a lost city defends truth. A Tyrannosaurus rex dons the visage of a bat to strike fear into evildoers’ hearts,” the official comic book synopsis for Jurassic League reads. “This heroic trinity, alongside a league of other super-powered dinosaurs, join forces to save a prehistoric Earth from the sinister machinations of Darkseid. Wait…what? Okay, maybe you don’t know the story. So join us and bear witness to a brand-new-yet older than time-adventure and experience the Justice League as you have never seen them before!”
