Since Angelina Pivarnick joined the Jersey Shore 13 years ago, she has gone through a number of different controversies. She has been a main cast member of the series since the second half of season 2. Despite viewers growing to love her, Angelina still has been through several ups and downs in the media. In September of 2012, Angelina, who was called out for cheating rumors, got into a heated Twitter debate with artist Adam Barta on the topic of gay marriage. Angelina initially said that she disagreed with gay marriage but later retracted her statement after criticism from Jenni «Jwoww» Farley via Twitter. Angelina later issued an apology via TMZ and released a single titled «Serendipity» with Adam in an effort to make up for what she had previously said about the LGBTQ+ community.
