Jeffrey Wright thinks Warner Bros. should hire the artist behind a vintage-style The Batman fan poster. The film from director Matt Reeves released on March 4 to both critical acclaim and strong box-office performance, with the worldwide gross already passing $600 million. Introducing Robert Pattinson as a new version of the Caped Crusader, The Batman will establish a new DC universe for the studio to play with, distinct from the ongoing DCEU continuity.
While Reeves' film is of a piece with today's dark, gritty takes on superhero characters, particularly those within the Batman universe, it was also intended as a bit of a throwback. The director has said he was inspired by 1970s paranoia thrillers like The Conversation and Klute, as well as William Friedkin's Best Picture-winning The French Connection, which directly influenced the lauded Penguin car chase scene. DC fans have appreciated Reeves using this lens as a way to take Batman back to his roots as «The World's Greatest Detective,» devoting a lot of the runtime to Pattinson's hero actually doing investigative work.

One artist, @artofalabbazia, went a little further back with their The Batman fan poster, which presents the comic book characters in a visual style more closely associated with classic Hollywood. The impressive vintage design has earned the appreciation of many commenters and even caught the eye of Wright, who stars in The Batman as the GCPD's Jim Gordon. Sharing it to his own Instagram, the actor goes the extra mile by calling for WB to hire them. Check out Wright's post below:
