Amazon Prime Video posted a photo of Heath Ledger’s Joker from The Dark Knighton Twitter in response to the release of The Batman’s deleted Joker scene. Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knightis considered by many to be the peak of superhero film making, let alone the best Batman movie. Christian Bale’s performance as Batman is many viewers' favorite portrayal of the character, but it’s The Dark Knight’s rendition of The Joker that people always love to discuss. Ledger’s portrayal as the Clown Prince of Crime is believed to be among the best performances in film to date and earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor in 2009.
With the release and subsequent success of The Batmanearlier this month, fans have begun to question when in this new franchise The Joker may return to the big screen. One of the final scenes of The Batman features an inmate who seems eerily similar to The Joker speaking to The Riddler in Arkham Asylum but is never actually called by name. This was confirmed to be The Joker by the film's director Matt Reeves after the fact, who also stated that they had filmed another scene with Batman’s greatest rival. The nearly five-minute deleted Joker scene was released earlier today and has become audiences' best look at Barry Keoghan’s portrayal of the famous Batman villain.
