According to reports, The Batman has grossed $672.8M worldwide against a $185-200M budget, pushing it passed Justice League's $657.9M. While becoming the highest-grossing film of 2022 is no doubt an impressive feat, The Batman is still way behind other pre-pandemic comic book blockbusters such as The Dark Knight ($1.005B), The Dark Knight Rises ($1.081B), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($873.6M), Wonder Woman ($822.3M), Aquaman ($1.148B),and Joker ($1.074B). It may be worth noting thatJustice League still bests The Batman when counting for inflation, but only slightly.
But after only being in theatres for roughly three weeks, there is still lots of time for The Batman to climb to the top of the highest-grossing comic book films of all time. On another positive note, it appears moviegoers are feeling more and more comfortable returning to the big screen.
