A fan poster for The Mandalorian season 3 imagines Din Djarin's struggle with his helmet rule. The Mandalorian season 2 wrapped up in December 2020 with Din (Pedro Pascal) left helmet-less and alone as he said goodbye to his foundling Grogu (Baby Yoda). Viewers were left wondering what would happen next until this past January, when Din made his return in The Book of Boba Fett episode 5. Since then, Din's learned more about the history of the Darksaber and the planet Mandalore, been banished from his Mandalorian tribe, customized a Naboo N-1 Starfighter, and reunited with Grogu.
All of this has set up Din's journey for The Mandalorian season 3. When the Armorer (Emily Swallow) learned that Din had removed his helmet, she insisted that the only way for him to earn atonement would be to visit the "living waters beneath the mines of Mandalore," which has hinted towards an adventure on the planet that has yet to make its live-action debut. Though Din was eager to atone, his declaration of being a Mandalorian just minutes later as well as his decision to keep wearing his helmet shows that Din likely doesn't regret breaking his creed and removing his helmet to save Grogu. It still, however, has no doubt made him question the way of his Mandalorian tribe, especially after meeting Mandalorians such as Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) who often remove their helmets.
