Scheduled server downtime was planned in advance to begin at 7am GMT on the morning of Friday 10th March.
From an American time zone perspective, per the Tweet below, the developers announced their intention to take the game offline at 2am PT on 10th March.
The next big question, then, is another age-old favourite: how long will the Fortnite downtime last in the gap between seasons/chapters? In other words, when will Fortnite be back online?
The time at which the servers turn back on is never easy to predict – that's because Epic Games never states an exact time in advance, preferring to maintain an air of mystery while the game is offline – but it seems safe to say that the game will be offline for multiple hours.
