Many people have wondered how open the world of FF7 Rebirth will be. Will everything be accessible seamlessly? Will there be roadblocks? What about loading screens? Rest assured, we have the answer.
FF7 Rebirth will consist of three major continents. But players have been wondering whether they’ll be able to seamlessly cross over between continents, and if every inch of the world will be explorable from the get-go.
From interviews, it’s clear that FF7 Rebirth’s world will have no loading screens and everywhere will be explorable, however, there will be roadblocks to keep the players on track. Certain impasses will be in place that block off many areas so you can’t simply explore the entire world from the start of the game.

The world will become bigger and grander as you progress through the story. So by the end of the game, you’ll have everything open up to you, and traversing the landscapes and the world will be much easier with new transports being unlocked.
And yes, to reiterate, there will be no loading screens at all, not across oceans or when entering caves or buildings. You’ll be able to keep on playing without a screen interrupting your travels every time you want to go somewhere.
Many are grateful for this ‘curated open world’ angle, as you’ll get to experience the world slowly opening up to you as you explore and play the story. Huge unbarred open worlds like Skyrim can prove overwhelming, and it makes setting your next destination rather difficult. Not that FF7 Rebirth won’t have its fair share of distractions.
Now that you know about the extent of the world in FF7 Rebirth, why don’t you check out how to play the demo?
