Pokemon Fan Creates Disturbing Slowpoke Tail Cake

A Pokemon fan has created a truly inspired — and disturbing — cake based on the tail of the Pokemon Slowpoke. The design is extremely creative and surprisingly accurate, but fans of Pokemon and Slowpoke might feel more creeped out than hungry looking at it.

Slowpoke's tail plays a big role in how the Pokemon behaves and evolves. A Shellder biting its tail can cause Slowpoke to evolve, and the creature is known for fishing with its tail, which seemingly has few pain receptors, as the Pokemon often doesn't notice or has an extremely delayed reaction to its tail being bit. Slowpoke tails have also been referred to as a delicacy from time to time, which may have inspired this cake design.

Pokemon fan and baker miscellaneousmao shared a brief video demonstrating the construction and serving of the Slowpoke tail cake, to the amusement and horror of fellow fans. The cake is shown completed first, with the fan cutting it open, revealing a white center that looks like the tail's bone. The overall pink design and white tip strongly resembles Slowpoke, albeit with the rest of the Pokemon missing.

In the video, the fan demonstrates how the Slowpoke cake was constructed. They started with a tube of frozen whipped cream frosting, which served as the 'bone' in the center of the cake. From there, they coated the frosting in a thick layer of cake crumbs. Then, a second piece of pink cake had icing applied to it. The frozen frosting is placed in the center, and the pink cake rolled over it, forming a roll cake. Miscellaneousmao completes the video by lopping off the end of the tail and putting whipped cream and sprinkles over it.

Slowpoke and Pokemon fans in the comments of the post have shared feelings of being amused and creeped out by the design.
