iPhone 14 launch has reportedly been confirmed. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the launch event is scheduled for September 7. According to previous leaks, the price of the iPhone 14 Pro was the exact same as the iPhone 13 Pro. However, last week Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo tweeted that the average selling price of the whole iPhone 14 range could increase by about 15% over the iPhone 13. Now, a new tweet by Dan Ives, an analyst from Wedbush Securities has hinted at a $100 price hike for Apple's upcoming smartphones.
The iPhone 14 Pro is expected to be priced at $1,099, a $100 increase on the price of the iPhone 13 Pro. Similarly, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is expected to be priced at $1,199. The base iPhone 14 is expected to start from $799 and the all-new iPhone 14 Max or iPhone 14 Plus, which will replace the outgoing iPhone 13 Mini is expected to be priced at $899.
This price increase is due to the rising cost of raw materials. The world has been suffering from a semiconductor shortage since the start of the pandemic which has led to more demand than supply.
The iPhone 14 is rumoured to bring some never-seen-before features on the iPhone. The features include an always-on display which has been long in demand. The Pro models of the iPhone 14 series will also feature a new notch design, taking up minimal screen area while keeping all the same or even improved version of the sensors seen in the iPhone 13 Pro series.
The report also suggests that Apple has already started recording the launch event at the Apple Park which will see the launch of the iPhone 14 series as well as the Apple Watch Series 8. A 2nd event is scheduled for October where the new iPad as well as the Mac may be launched.
