Apple has already stuffed the current crop of iPhones with new features and upgrades through the recently rolled out iOS 16 operating software. Now, talk has veered around to the likelihood of Apple rolling out the iPhone 14 always-on display feature. Sadly, Apple did not mention this feature during the WWDC 2022 event, nor has it been mentioned in the list of iOS 16 features. Well, iPhone fans who were eagerly waiting to use of this interesting feature, will be glad to know that the latest report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reinforces the idea of an always-on display which is expected on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Mark Gurman says that the highlighted feature of the iOS 16 was the revamped lock screen. Apple is said to have been working on this interface for a couple of years, and it makes sense to release it now. The reasons are simple. Gurman explained, "the lock screen works hand-in-hand with a new feature on the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro models: an always-on display."
This feature is already available on Apple Watch Series 5 and later models. Apple Watch users must be aware of this feature which lets them view glanceable information like time even when the watch is locked. Similarly, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be able to show widgets displaying weather, calendars, stocks, activities and other data while the screen remains at a low brightness and frame rate. According to the report, there will also be a setting like the Apple Watch that will keep the sensitive date from appearing on the lock screen for all to see.
