Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Starter Plushes Get First Sneak Peek
Nintendo has given fans a sneak peek at the very first Pokémon Scarlet and Violet merchandise by revealing adorable plushies of Generation 9 Starters Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. In February, Game Freak surprised fans around the world when they announced that Gen 9 Pokémon Scarlet and Violet would be launching in November 2022. The Nintendo developer further teased the release of the upcoming RPGs in July, by revealing adorable plushies of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's Starter Pokémon.
Game Freak kicked off the reveal of Gen 9 with the debut of Scarlet and Violet's Starters Sprigatito, Quaxly, and Fuecoco. Sprigatito is a Grass-type cat that is described as attention seeking, Fuecoco is a laid-back Fire-type crocodile that likes to eat, and Quaxly is a Water-type duck that is serious and tidy. Players got a deeper look at the new Gen 9 Starter Pokémon in June after Game Freak released a second Pokémon Scarlet and Violet gameplay trailer. A video posted by The Pokémon Company in July has revealed that fans will be able to get the Gen 9 Starters in adorable plush doll form.

The new Gen 9 plushies were teased by The Pokémon Company on July 21st after the dolls were featured in a YouTube video of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's theme song. Serebii owner Joe Merrick posted screenshots of the plushies on Twitter, which showed off Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly sitting next to each other. In the video, the Gen 9 Starter dolls are watching an orchestra perform music from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. While many were excited to hear new music from the upcoming RPGs, the adorable Starter Plushies quickly stole the show on social media.
