Former staff from IO Interactive and Plarium have founded a new studio called Chamo Games.
As reported by VentureBeat, the developer has been set up by Zoher Toutanji and Roberto Schiavulli, the ex chief operating officer at the Hitman maker and former creative director at the Raid: Shadow Legends company.
Chamo has been established in Sweden's Malmö and is currently working on a physics-based shooter. It already employs 25 staff, with veterans of CD Projekt, Riot and Ubisoft being among these ranks.
The studio is also backed by Lakestar, Sisu Game Ventures, and Griffin Gaming Partners but no details about the particulars of this financial support have been shared yet.
“Chamo Games is more than a studio; it’s a community dedicated to crafting innovative gameplay experiences," CEO Toutanji said.
"We’re eager to share our upcoming project that pushes the boundaries of gaming genres.”
Creative director Schiavulli added: “We believe in making games that prioritize player enjoyment and team well-being. Our diverse team is united in our vision to elevate PC and console gaming to new heights. Our first project is an unconventional game of skills, but it is also super fun. And from that fun we are building a game that is worth your time."
