Details on the games Insomniac is planning on releasing over the course of the next decade or so have emerged online, following a recent ransomware attack on the studio. Amidst those leaks, there have been mentions of a new Ratchet and Clank game, the upcoming Wolverine game leading into X-Men sequels, and new entries in the Spider-Man series. So what does this mean for when we might see a new IP from Insomniac?
Well, it looks like it’s going to take a while. A leaked slide from an internal presentation shared on ResetEra reveals that though Insomniac does have plans for a new IP, currently, the plan is to release it either in 2031 or in 2032. Another slide, showing an extended roadmap for the studio, mentions a second new IP, which is targeting a 2035 release, though the former slide, which is dated June 2023, is the more recent one, and doesn’t mention a second new IP.
Of course, given the fact that we’re talking about a timeframe of over a decade starting from now, it should go without saying that these plans are far from being set in stone- so don’t be surprised if things change significantly for Insomniac in the future.
