Industry vet Lehto has left EA
The co-creator of Halo, Marcus Lehto, has seemingly departed Electronic Arts.
That's going by the development vet's LinkedIn profile, which shows that he left the company earlier this month. Letho was heading up a brand new studio in EA's portfolio called Ridgeline Games. As recently as February 2nd, he posted a picture of him with the "local team" from the developer.
As spotted by Twitter user DannyOnPC, Ridgeline is currently not hiring for any jobs, leading to speculation that the studio is being closed down. Given that there are still many people on LinkedIn who are working at the developer; there are also notably no posts on the platform from anyone saying that they have been laid off from the studio, at least at the time of writing.
Meanwhile, Ridgeline Games' co-founder and studio art director, Chris Matthews, appears to have left the developer in January to join Halo maker 343 Industries.
Lehto joined EA in October 2021 and opened Ridgeline in September of the following year. The developer was set to be focused on Battlefield.
