Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, Anvil Empires adds cargo ships, Broken Ranks raises money for flood victims, and City of Titans says goodbye to a loved friend. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.
Devblog 18 has been posted on Steam, and it appears that cargo ships have found their way into Anvil Empires. Cargo ships will be able to hold eight passengers and two vehicles, including horses, carts, and caravans. Rudimentary sail mechanics are already in-game, giving you a speed boost based on wind direction.
It always feels good to see gaming communities come together when others are in need. In an effort to help those affected by flooding in Southern Poland, the Broken Ranks community raised 105,753 PLN (27,688 USD).
A recent post on the CoHH forums shared that the new name release policy is set to be activated on November 1st. Characters will be flagged as ‘inactive’ based on their level (lvl 1-5: 30 days, lvl 6-49: 1 year, lvl 50: never). Once a character is flagged, their name will become available, and if taken by another player, the original character will be renamed.
This week, MWM said farewell to Nathan “Red Warlock” Purkiss, who passed away after a battle with cancer. Red Warlock was a volunteer for the CoT project and was the primary City Designer and Builder of Titan City.
A pair of updates this week fixed some minor bugs and added some new traits into the game.
Patch 0.5.2 was applied to the servers on Wednesday. The patch served primarily to fix some bugs, but a few minor game changes were also thrown in.
We still haven’t heard any news on when the next round of testing will begin for Profane, but the UI team shared a pic of the updated Crafting Interface.
