A player found out at the worst possible moment that their in-game farmer is not the gender they had initially thought they were. The cozy farming and life sim has 12 romanceable characters and lets players date characters of any gender, regardless of their own.
While having a romantic moment with Sebastian, Reddit user SuspiciousBird72 realized that Sebastian thought they were male. The realization came during one of Sebastian's heart events thanks to a line of dialogue that reads, "" But it was somewhat of a surprise, since the whole time, they thought they were playing as a female farmer.
According to the post, it took the Redditor nearly an entire year before they realized they weren't playing the gender they thought they were. The description states that this event happened in the Winter of the first year and that they "" The confusion is understandable since farmers wear the same overalls no matter what their gender is and can choose from the same hairstyles.

Fellow Redditor jasondoesstuff writes a mock dialogue that might have happened and how ridiculous it would have sounded. Their comment shows Sebastian baring his heart to the farmer, saying "" to which the farmer responds in disbelief, "" Several other comments point out that the farmer would have an identity crisis following this kind of moment.
In most other games, there would be nothing players could do to fix this situation other than restart the whole game. Luckily, developer ConcernedApe allows players to change their gender (and appearance) in a very lore-friendly way. Once players achieve a four-star relationship with the Wizard, he'll let them into the basement, where they can change appearance or gender for 500 gold.
