For iPhone users, Apple provides an easy way to trim or shorten a video right inside the Photos app. There are times when users shoot a long video but want to share only a specific part of the file. This is especially true when posting on Instagram and Facebook, or sharing a video with friends and family. Other times, users might need to reduce the size of a video file simply because it's too large to share over email or upload to the cloud, and it's more convenient to crop out the required section instead of compressing the video.
The video quality offered by iPhones is among the best in the smartphone industry, and Apple has been consistently upgrading the experience. In 2021, Apple introduced the iPhone 13 series with a Cinematic mode that automatically adds a depth-of-focus effect for subjects in a video. The feature tracks a subject while recording video and keeps it in focus continuously. The focus can also transition between two subjects. Users can adjust the focus point manually while shooting the video, and Apple also provides the option to do this after it's saved to the Photos app.
