A new massive patch is now live for Hogwarts Legacy on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, introducing a huge number of changes and improvements on all platforms, including some welcome visual and performance improvements.
Alongside the many visual and performance improvements, the May 4th patch also introduces an Arachnophobia Mode that changes the appearance of all enemy spiders, removes skitters and screeches, turns static spider corpses in the world invisible, and more. The patch also adds support for the new Professor Ronen Cosmetic Set Twitch Drops, fixes multiple collections and Field Guide Pages issues, and more.
The new Hogwarts Legacy patch also brings select performance fixes and improvements for the PC version of the game. Alongside solving graphical corruption issues at various locations of the game, the patch brings optimizations for Apparate, Disapparate, and Spell/AOE at low settings, shader type compilation optimization, performance, and functionality enhancements. The patch also updates NVIDIA DLSS to 3.1.2, AMD FSR to 2.2, and Intel XeSS to 1.1. Last but not least, the new patch also introduces some ray tracing improvements and fixes, such as decals no longer being black with ray traced ambient occlusion, improved lighting and shadows, and more.
