Welcome back to a Tuesday of choice savings on nothing but the games that matter. I've locked onto a pile of old gold in the Nintendo Store that's going for historically low prices. I'm also tracking the best preorders one can setup for the biggest games coming down the pipe. Lastly, I'm folding back in LEGO deals because some brick-tastic, post-Prime Day bargains still exist.
In retro news, I'm celebrating the 28th birthday of Grand Prix 2, one of the most definitive PC racing games of its time. Coded by sim genius Geoff Crammond, GP2 was a comprehensive recreation of 1994's Formula One season with all 16 circuits, 14 teams, and 28 drivers. Not only do I fondly recall tap-steering through its "amazingly lifelike" Adelaide Grand Prix in my formative years, but I also cherish a memory of interviewing Ben "The Stig" Collins and having a geek out session over our shared adoration of GP2. During his Formula 3 years, it seems he and his mates used to smash out many a lap in their downtimes.
