Raid lockouts in Cataclysm Classic have proven troublesome for players in the past, and it seems that those issues haven't quite been fixed. Players are noticing that they're sometimes being barred from entering content that they should be eligible to enter, particularly Heroic Raids — including those that were already in progress.
The community seems to be running into this specific bug repeatedly while attempting to complete The Bastion of Twilight on Heroic.
After an unsuccessful attempt against Heroic Cho’gall, the final boss of the Raid, players have noticed that they are occasionally unable to reenter the Raid Instance, as seen below.
This Raid Group wiped while attempting to defeat Heroic Cho’gall, the final boss of the Raid, which means that they should still be eligible to zone into the Raid Instance for another attempt — instead they’re greeted with “you are already locked to The Bastion of Twilight (10 Player (Heroic)),” and are barred from finishing the Heroic version of the Raid. There are various ideas floating around as to what’s causing this bug, though we’ve received no confirmation from Blizzard yet regarding a cause.
This is clearly a disappointing bug for players hoping to progress in Heroic Bastion of Twilight, but we’re confident that Blizzard will address this issue in a timely manner.
In the meantime, some players have reported being able to bypass this bug by dropping the Raid Group entirely and reforming once the Raid Leader has zoned into the Raid — though this doesn’t appear to be working for everyone. The other option is to finish the Raid on Normal, even if this is clearly not the optimal choice.
