With Capcom's recent trend of taking older games and giving them a fresh coat of paint and modern mechanics, the question of 's future is often discussed amongst fans. It may not have had the impact of the original game nor have the dedicated following of , but it's still a vital part of the canon that shouldn't be forgotten.

Borrowing heavily from the original trilogy, the gameplay was archaic even by 2000's standards, meaning a remake would go a long way to improving the experience.
