For the tenth anniversary since the announcement of No Man’s Sky, Hello Games has revealed their next game, Light No Fire. As is tradition at The Game Awards, it also came with a trailer.
Light No Fire is aiming to be a survival sandbox game set in a massive, procedurally generated open world claimed to be comparative in size to Earth. That’s the planet we live on!
The trailer shows off multiplayer, construction, and all kinds of traversal types on birds and dragons. The order of the day seems to be scale, but there are some cool scenes, like rabbit people bowing for some reason.
Scale is nice, but I’d like to see more about how it will differentiate itself from other survival sandbox games. Particularly No Man’s Sky. It’s a pretty full genre right now, and “big map” isn’t really the selling point it used to be. However, Hello Games has learned a lot from the constant development of No Man’s Sky.
Light No Fire has no announced release window, and the only announced platform right now is PC.
