Headup founds new indie studio Goon Squad
Publisher Headup has created a brand new indie studio called Good Squad.
The venture is essentially a rebrand of the company's existing internal development team that has already worked on IP such as Tinkertown and Dr Fetus' Mean Meat Machine. Headup says that Good Squad's formation is a "significant milestone" in the firm's journey.
"By establishing Goon Squad, Headup is empowering this creative hub to flourish independently, fostering a space where new gaming experiences can take root and grow while sharpening its own positioning with a clear publishing focus," the company wrote.
Both Headup and Goon Squad are still part of Microcuts Holding, the venture owned and operated by the former's founder Dieter Schoeller that bought the company from Thunderful for just €500,000 ($538,937) in March of this year. For reference, the European publishing giant bought Headup for €11 million ($11.86 million) just three years prior.
