Hades Mod Adds Apollo With 3 Other Gods To Come

Hades is one of the most critically acclaimed indie games out there, and made history by being the first video game to win a prestigious Hugo literary award. The roguelike has a special sense of style and has won many plaudits for its sensitively handled lore and story, which offers variety with every playthough.

Now comes a new mod that adds more to Hades' pantheon. Spotted by ResetEra user crimsonECHIDNA (via GamesRadar) the mod adds new gods and boons to Hades, and is available for the PC version of the game.

The mod is called OlympusExtra, and was created by AlexKage. His creation includes "unique effects, god's curses, duo boons, voicelines, and more". The god that is available so far is Apollo, you know, the one who's associated with the sun and rides a chariot drawn by swans in classical mythology.

But other gods will be added, although they are "still in the early stages of development". The additional Olympians will be Hera, who is Zeus' wife and infamously turned Hercules mad; Hestia, virgin goddes of the hearth and firstborn child of the Titans Cronus and Rhea; and Hephaestus, the blacksmith god.

"Don't you find it weird how Apollo was left behind? Because we do! Many Hades players have wanted Apollo to the game, so here he is", reads the mod's description. "Hope you can enjoy his boons as much as Zagreus does". OlympusExtra includes Apollo Boons, Apollo Keepsake, Apollo Wrath (when duo picking gods), Apollo dialogs, and Apollo duo boons: Aphrodite, Artemis, Ares, and Demeter.

To be added are other Apollo duo boons: Athena, Dionysus, Poseidon, and Zeus; Theseus summons (Apollo); and Apollo voice lines and custom SFX. AlexKage
