Guild Wars 2 ’s next profession balance change is coming on May 2nd, and ArenaNet has shared the first round of notes to preview the changes and get community feedback.
While this is not one of the major balance update patches on the 2023 roadmap, the team has continued to share the notes ahead of updates. This continues the promise of transparency and sharing everything beforehand that they’ve kept up with since last summer.
This patch is intended to respond to some current issues in the game. If you’ve been paying attentionto Guild Wars 2’s balance updates, the team has let these patches touch all modes, so you’ll find profession updates for PvE, PvP, and WvW as needed.
This past week, a glitch involving elementalist traits was exploited, leading to traits being briefly disabled while the team fixed the issue. The elementalist will get some adjustments in WvW to bring down its power a bit, which is similar to recent passes for the class in PvP.
Engineer is also getting some adjustments to overtuned damage in PvP. Ranger is also getting tweaks to bring down its damage a bit. Guardian changes include PvE and PvP tweaks. Specifically, they’re paying attention to power-based dragonhunter builds and firebrand for support. Mesmer is also getting adjusted down a bit, with skill adjustments varying across the modes.
Necromancer is getting some changes to increase its competitiveness, along with Revenant, since both are not quite where the team feels they should be. Warrior is getting some love for berserker and support tools in PvE, with other help in competitive modes.
