Director James Gunn hints on Twitter at the identity of a surprise guest star set to show up in Guardians of the Galaxy 3. This is the third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy series, falling under the MCU umbrella. The first film was released back in 2014, bringing together the mix-match group that fans have come to love. While Groot, Gamora, Star-Lord, Drax, and Rocket have shown up in other Marvel projects, viewers have been waiting since 2017 for the third movie and with a year still left to wait, they're eager to hear any new information about the project.
Throughout filming, Gunn has been giving fans little updates about the project wherever he can. Most recently, Gunn tweeted about an ongoing prank that someone has been playing on him on set. Several Rick and Morty character keychains have found a home perched on the director's video feed stand, but Gunn isn't the one putting them there. This harmless prank just keeps going as new pieces are added each day, and he has yet to find out who the culprit is.

Gunn gave his followers a delayed update to this saga as he was too busy the day before filming an unnamed guest star on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy 3. The director continues his post, telling fans that a second Rick Sanchez has been added, and goes on to discuss his love for the series with fans in the replies. While this almost strategic placement of this guest star announcement could just be a coincidence, it may be a clue that the voice of Rick (Justin Roiland) is featured in the project.
