After a pretty atrocious leak, Rockstar lifted the lid on Grand Theft Auto 6 a little earlier than scheduled, releasing the trailer alongside the news that the game will launch at some point in 2025. There were still a lot of unanswered questions after the trailer though, including which platforms GTA 6 will actually launch on when it comes to release. All of you PS4 owners had better look away now.
In a press release posted on the official Take 2 website, it has been confirmed that GTA 6 will be a next-gen console only title, launching on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2025. This news isn't all that surprising, especially considering the Xbox One and PS4 will more than likely be over 12 years old upon the release of GTA 6. Are you feeling old yet?

What is a little more surprising is that there is no mention of whether GTA 6 will be coming to PC, so we can assume it will be skipping the platform, at least on launch. Rockstar does have a pretty strange track record releasing games on PC, with title like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 only making the jump to Steam a year or so after release. In fact, fans are still waiting for an official way to play the first Red Dead Redemption on PC despite the recent remaster/port.
