Just finished Tokyo Xanadu eX+ on PS4 after 63 hours of playtime. I started playing this game back in September and I managed to finish the base game before new releases in October grabbed my attention instead. Then I had the epilogue and the new story content in the PS4 version left to play, which I just finished.
Anyway, another phenomenal game from Falcom! It was really cool to see their take on Persona. Well, the game is a mix of Trails of Cold Steel in terms of story and side content and Ys in terms of combat, but the structure is heavily reminiscent of Persona.
I just love high school JRPGs and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this one. Great characters, awesome soundtrack (as always!) and the gameplay was really fun. You could tell this game was originally made for the Vita due to the bite-sized dungeons. Most dungeons are around 10 minutes long, which is a good length.
Most importantly, this game is a one-off. So for those who are intimidated by long series like The Legend of Heroes or Ys (even though Ys games are pretty much stand-alone experiences), this is a great way to experience what Falcom games are all about.
Just finished Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory on Switch after roughly 10 hours of playtime. Very fun game, I really enjoyed it! It was nice going through all the games and getting an extremely brief recap of each game's story. The 15 minutes or so of completely new content at the end was pretty nice as well, it bridges the story a bit more from Kingdom Hearts 3 to the next game.
One thing I want to say about the actual game is that making a music game of Kingdom Hearts is not really a good idea. I'd say 80 percent of the tracks in this game are completely obscure and not recognisable at all. I
