The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are set to be officially released in October, but on Google’s Pixel Simulator website, the company accidentally leaked the top-tier flagship’s design, the three finishes that will be available to customers, and a myriad of specifications and other features. Though the company has removed those details, it was a little too late for the advertising giant as a bulk of information is now circulating the web.
Let us start with the three finishes first. M. Brandon Lee, with the handle @thisistechtoday, posted on X that the Pixel 8 Pro will be available in Licorice, Porcelain, and Sky. That was not all the information posted because the Pixel Simulator website also focused on the flagship’s features and specifications, including a body temperature sensor placed close to the rear camera array.
Of course, the upcoming smartphone model will also ship with a SIM card tray, burying all rumors that Google is switching to eSIM-only versions of the Pixel 8 Pro. From the images, we also noticed that the company’s top-end offering features top and bottom-firing speakers, delivering an immersive audio experience for those who wish to listen without headphones or earphones.
The Pixel 8 Pro is also said to ship with a telephoto lens with a 5x zoom, though the features section does not specify if ‘5x’ is lossless zoom or a combination of optical and digital zoom. Other additions such as NFC, mmWave antenna cover, and several microphones will find their way to the flagship.
