Version 3.5's Archon Quest «Calibert» reveals a lot of lore regarding the Abyss Order, the Traveler's sibling, and Kaeya, one of the most beloved playable characters in the game. Kaeya has been a part of Genshin Impact since the game's launch and has wooed countless fans with his chronic deceptions and suave attitude. He has also collected fans based on his intriguing backstory involving the ruined nation of Khaenri'ah. The revelation of the Abyss Order's founder may have given players an important clue as to Kaeya's past.

Kaeya is a Cryo starter character available to all players for free during the course of the Mondstadt Archon Quests. He is the Calvary Captain of the Knights of Favonius and the adopted brother to Diluc, owner of the Dawn Winery. He is beloved in Mondstadt but carries strange secrets and can come across as surprisingly callous behind his charming exterior. Kaeya's connection to Khaenri'ah remains a source of mystery in. Most of the information regarding Kaeya's life before Mondstadt comes from his Character Story 4 and his Vision entry. Kaeya was brought to Mondstadt by his father, a Khaenri'ahn, and told to implant himself in Mondstadt as a Khaenri'ahn spy, hence his strained relationship with his 22-year-old brother Diluc in . It is unknown what Kaeya was expected to do, but his father's last words to him were that he was Khaenri'ah's «last hope», as Character Story 4 says.
