Human Heritage Questline Differences for Players Who Obtained the Original Drakefire Amulet
The Human Heritage Questline was added with Patch 10.0.7, heavily involving the past confrontation between the Stormwind forces and Onyxia, then disguised as Lady Katrana Prestor. Characters who completed the original questline in Vanilla WoW that led to the creation of the Drakefire Amulet (which served as an attunement to the Onyxia's Lair raid back then) are able to experience a slightly different version of the questline, with NPCs acknowledging your participation in the events! We summarized all the differences for characters who have obtained the original Drakefire Amulet.
Shaw's Flashback CutsceneThe first difference you will see with the Human Heritage questline is in the quest A Window to the Past, in which a cutscene will play of Mathias Shaw retelling the story of the unmasking of Lady Katrana Prestor as Onyxia, and the death of Marshal Reginald Windsor during the Vanilla WoW quest The Great Masquerade. When playing on a character that has not done the original Drakefire Amulet questline, Windsor is accompanied by a Stormwind Guard. If your character has done the Drakefire Amulet questline, your character will instead feature in the cutscene, showing as a shadow! Shaw's dialogue also slightly changes to reflect the fact that you were there during the original event. We have highlighted the dialogue that changes between each version.Note: the second version of the cutscene was screenshotted on the PTR, hence the «Work in Progress» overlay. This does not show up on Live.
