The release date, characters, banners, and events for 4.5 have been revealed and highlighted in the Version 4.5 livestream. This new update follows the massive Version 4.4, which added a whole new area in the northern portion of Liyue, and introduced two new playable characters, as well as the annual Lantern Rite Festival event. With Version 4.4 nearing its end, developer HoYoverse held the special 4.5 livestream, which announced most of the content planned for arrival in the upcoming patch, which includes a new and much-needed 5-star Geo sub-DPS unit.
Chiori had already been confirmed as the next new character to arrive in the action RPG, but the details surrounding her abilities were still a mystery. Surely, before the Version 4.5 livestream, there were several leaks about the patch, including rumors about Chiori’s gameplay kit in . While the information did seem reliable, it is always best to wait for official confirmation from the developer, and that is what happened in the livestream. The special program also announced the other banners for Phase 1 and Phase 2, as well as the events and updates that arrive with the patch.
As was confirmed during the Version 4.5 livestream, which was broadcast on the official channel on Twitch, the next update will arrive on March 13. That is in line with the six-week schedule between every update in the game and two weeks from the livestream itself. This means that there have been no internal delays in development. At this point, it is highly unlikely that the release of 4.5 will be postponed, as versions tend to be delayed before their livestream is even broadcast.
The game has not suffered any delay in content since before the release of Sumeru, back in 2022.
