Overwatch 2 players have had quite a rough year so far in 2023 with the cancellation of promised PvE plans, but things might be looking up as the popular Blizzard title will now be getting its anime adaption — be it short.
Genesis is the name of Overwatch 2’s upcoming anime mini-series, and there is plenty to be excited about. Premiering in July 2023, fans don’t have long to wait before they get their first taste of a three-part release telling a new story from the game’s unique world.
In a trailer shared for the upcoming release, fans got a glimpse at its story, which will debut new characters from the story set during the Omnic Crisis. This means the show will be somewhat of a prequel to the vents of the popular game.
Before you get too excited, here’s everything you need to know about its release so you can be sure not to miss it.
The first episode of Overwatch’s upcoming anime mini-series will be available in the same place as its future episodes, YouTube.
If you want to tune into the first episode, “Part One: Dawn,” you can head to the PlayOverwatch YouTube channel on July 6 at 9 am PST. This is when the episode that runs for just over five minutes will be available to stream.
There will be three episodes of Genesis; however, details about the release of the other two parts have yet to be revealed. We suggest subscribing to the PlayOverwatch YouTube channel so you don’t miss out when they finally drop.
