Final Fantasy 16 has received a new patch, bringing the game up to version 1.03.
According to Square Enix, the new patch – which is available for download now – “fixes some issues and adds some new functionality”.
One of the more notable changes is a new option which lets players reduce the strength of the game’s motion blur effect, or turn it off entirely.
Players annoyed at the way the game auto-centers the camera will also the welcome of two new options called Player Follow (Movement) and Player Follow (Attack).
By turning these options off, the camera will no longer automatically center the camera behind the player while they’re moving and fighting.
Camera sensitivity has also been tweaked, allowing players to now raise it to a maximum setting of 20 (as opposed to 10 previously).

Final Fantasy 16 shipped and digitally sold 3 million copies in less than a week of availability, according to publisher Square Enix.
The figure means FF16 is roughly in line with Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s launch, which managed around 3.5 million copies in ten days.
It does also mean, however, that its predecessor Final Fantasy 15 remains the fastest-selling entry in the series with 5 million units shipped and sold digitally back in November 2016. This was across multiple platforms, whereas Final Fantasy 16 is a PS5 exclusive.
VGC’s Final Fantasy 16 review calls the action RPG “an incredible action game with blockbuster visuals and music,” but suggests “there’s a very real sense that it’s missing some of the series’ RPG identity at its core”.
