Free Fire is getting its own anime adaptation! Yes, Garena has just signed a deal with Japanese entertainment company Kadokawa to bring the game to life in a new format. The Free Fire anime project will be guided by Kadokawa Qingyu.
If you’re wondering about Kadokawa’s portfolio, they boast popular anime like Gamera Rebirth, Bullbuster, Overtake!, High Card, More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers and Villainess Level 99. So, there’s no denying Kadokawa knows their way around a good anime series.
Free Fire isn’t exactly a narrative-heavy game. It’s where you drop onto an island, duke it out with everyone else, and come out on top. So, it makes me wonder, what’s the storyline going to be for an anime? But maybe that’s what makes the anticipation for this Free Fire anime more.
