As the Reckoning takes over the Marvel Universe, the former Heralds of Galactus are teaming up to recover their former master's body on Asgard and bring him back as a hero. In Fantastic Four #40 by Marvel Comics, the Fantastic Four are informed by the Silver Surfer he can't assist them in the Badoon's attack on Earth — as he's joining his fellow Heralds to help bring Galactus back to life.
Galactus is one of the most intimidating cosmic threats in the entire Marvel Universe, as the Devourer of Worlds feasts on planets, killing a nearly incalculable amount of innocent lives in the process. As a result, Galactus is often perceived as a villain. But, his true purpose is more about restoring cosmic balance than simply causing death in the universe, even if it means destroying entire planets to accomplish that goal. Now, with a massive attack from the Reckoning occurring across the galaxy, Galactus' former Heralds are joining together to unearth their former master's remains.

In Fantastic Four #40 by Dan Slott, Rachael Stott, Jesus Aburtov, and VC's Joe Caramagna, Reed Richards assembles the Fantastic Four, She-Hulk, and Nick Fury at the Baxter Building. The group speaks with a hologram of Silver Surfer, who tells them they are facing «endless conflicts across the width and breadth of reality.» Reed Richards tells Norin-Radd they could use his help and asks the former Herald of Galactus to join them against the Badoon. However, Silver Surfer declines, as he reveals the former Heralds of Galactus are fighting to unearth his remains on Asgard. The Surfer takes to Asgard, where Galactus was slain
