A new trailer was released online today for Flashback 2, the second entry in the classic series, which masterfully combined platforming, adventure, and action elements, providing the first proper look at the game.
The new trailer, which can be watched below, not only showcases gameplay for the first time but also provides a new glimpse at the vibrant sci-fi setting and main character Conrand, who will embark on a new journey that will take him across the world to rescue his friend Ian and defeat the Morphs that once again threaten humanity.
While Flashback 2 comes over thirty years after its predecessor, it definitely feels like the spirit of the series will remain intact in the new game launching this November. It couldn't have been any other way, as the original creator Paul Cuisset will be joined by other veterans such as Thierry Perrau and Raphaël Gesqua, who composed the soundtrack of the Commodore Amiga version of the original game.
While Flashback 2 is releasing thirty years after the original, the series hasn't been left on hiatus for that long, as a remake of the original was released back in 2013. Unfortunately, the remake leaves quite a bit to be desired, as it fails to capture what made the original such a great title by adding elements, such as RPG mechanics, that did not work well at all.
Flashback 2 launches on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch sometime this November.
