The footage is difficult to watch, mostly because of the huge watermark plastered across nearly every inch of it. It even pans up to show the following message: “For security reasons, once the video starts playing please do no use the keyboard, mouse, or click outside of this window. Doing so will result in you being terminated from the study. We appreciate your understanding.” Clearly, this person will not be asked back for a second study regarding the next trailer.
The trailer does give a look at the titular Freddy, as well as the other animatronics and Josh Hutcherson’s character named Mike Schmidt. It’s got a bit over three minutes of footage and touches on more than a few story beats and scares. The film is also still slated for release on October 27 (in theaters and on Peacock), which the trailer reinforces. It’s unknown when the official trailer is dropping.
