Five Nights At Freddy's Creator "Disheartened" By Movie Trailer Leak
Scott Cawthon, the creator of Five Nights at Freddy's, says that he's "disheartened" by the movie trailer leaking, but has thanked fans who are waiting for the official release.
Yesterday, an unfinished version of the first trailer for the long-in-development Five Nights at Freddy's trailer leaked online, giving us our best, if a little rough, look yet at what the movie is going to look like. The trailer has already been taken down by Universal in several places but, as is the case with anything on the internet, is pretty easy to find with a little searching around.

In response to the leak, series creator Scott Cawthon, who also worked on the movie as a writer and producer, shared a statement on a post on the game's subreddit, admitting that he's "disheartened" that a rough version of the trailer has been shared before it was supposed to, while also thanking the fans that have held off from watching the footage and discussing it.
Cawthon said, "I wanted to comment on this before the end of the day. I got emails about this early in the day but was at an amusement park with my kids and was unable to see what had happened. I tried to ignore it and enjoy my day, but I was really, really, disheartened. I know that Blumhouse and Universal (and me too) have all worked very hard to make something really exciting to share. So the thought of a first-look being spoiled was frustrating, and I was really dreading coming home to see what all had happened while I was away."
