First WarioWare: Move It! review published in Famitsu
The first WarioWare: Move It! Review has been published in Japanese magazine Famitsu.
As reported by Ryokutya2089, Famitsu’s four reviewers gave the Switch title a combined score of 35/40 (9,8,9,9), and praised its new motion controls and mini-games.
The review also compliments Move It’s new Party Mode, which Famitsu says surprised it in terms of how much exercise it gives the player.
Set for release on November 3, Nintendo sees WarioWare: Move It! as a spiritual successor to Wii’s Smooth Moves, which according to Metacritic was the series’ best-reviewed home console version ever.
That means the game has players completing mini-games in the series’ usual convoluted narrative fashion, either alone or with up to 3 others, with motion controls as the main mode of play.
VGC wrote in a recent WarioWare preview: “It also means, for a series famous for its frantic action and demanding reaction times, that anyone who picks up Move It! in November should be ready for a serious workout.”
“From our brief play session, it’s clear that Move It! has a lot of what makes the WarioWare series loved by fans: it’s energetic, unique and utterly bizarre. Unsurprisingly, since its returning to motion controls, it also appears to suffer from some of the same issues Smooth Moves did back in 2006.”
