One of the first, if not THE first, PlayStation Portal impressions has been released, focusing on Sony's streaming handheld exterior.
Yesterday, we reported on the very first unboxing of Sony's upcoming device, and we now wanted to share an early impressions article from the Japanese outlet Game Watch. Due to embargoes, the outlet will release a review of the device later. In the article, the outlet talks about the device's boxing, and package, and includes accessories and how the handheld feels and looks compared to the Nintendo Switch. On the top of the PlayStation Portal, we find the volume adjustment button, the microphone, the PlayStation Link Pairing button, and a power button on the left. Additionally, stereo speakers have been placed on top. The bottom of the device features a second microphone under the display and a USB Type-C port as well as an earphone jack in the center.
The main takeaway from this impression article is how well the device feels and holds, partly due to its thickness (compared to the Switch). According to the outlet, this handheld has been designed with comfort in mind, and the device feels "as good" as Sony's DualSense PS5 controller. Additionally, the device is said to be very easy to carry, although, of course, Sony's device isn't to be confused with a gaming on-to-go device.
More information and a review from the outlet will be released in the "near future".
