Overwatch 2 Season 8 Launches with New Tank Hero Mauga
Overwatch 2 Season 8: Call of the Hunt has launched, adding with it the game’s newest tank hero, Mauga.
Mauga is armed with dual chainguns capable of tearing through his enemies. He can also charge through enemies using his Overrun ability, support his team with Cardiac Overdrive, and scrap it with the enemy team in close range with his ultimate ability, Cage Fight. Blizzard’s made some adjustments to Mauga due to tester feedback, boosting his chaingun power and giving him Armor HP.
New Hard Light weapon skins are available for Reinhardt, Reaper, and Mercy. The new weapon skins feature custom visual and sound effects and represent Overwatch 2’s first foray into weapon customization, with more skins on the way.
The Winter Wonderland event kicks off on December 19, adding new holiday themed skins, challenges, and returning fan-favorite modes. Players can unlock one free Legendary skin of their choice: choose between Formalwear skins for Cassidy or Baptiste, or if you prefer something more cozy, unlock Illari’s Winter Jammies skin.
New Hero Mastery courses for Echo, Genji, Mei, D.Va, and Lucio will be rolled out over a five week event beginning in the New Year on January 2nd. The event will include new challenges and cosmetic rewards.
