The teenager who hacked Rockstar and leaked in-development gameplay footage from the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 has been sentenced to an 'indefinite hospital order'.
That's according to the BBC, which reports that Arion Kurtaj of the hacking group Lapsus$ will be remaining in a secure hospital for the rest of his life unless a doctor deems him no longer a danger. During his sentencing, a mental health assessment showed that Kurtaj “continued to express the intent to return to cybercrime as soon as possible".
The teenager is reported as being violent which in custody and apparently is unfit to stand trial due to his severe autism.
Kurtaj conducted the hack on Rockstar while on bail for both Nvidia and telecomms giant BT/EE. He did so with an Amazon Fire TV stick and a mobile phone.
Bloomberg reports that Kurtaj was found liable on all 12 charges brought against him.
Rockstar officially revealed Grand Theft Auto 6 earlier in December. The trailer has broken viewership records, clocking in 128m views in its first four days.
