While fans may have been concerned about Bloober Team's remake, the latest trailer is changing some minds thanks to its updated depiction of Eddie. Despite the initial excitement surrounding an enhanced version of the beloved survival-horror game, 's promotional campaign hasn't set the world on fire thanks to less-than-stellar footage of the project in action. Fortunately, Bloober Team has been hard at work refining its vision for the game because the Story Trailer promises a genuinely chilling experience.
Posted to YouTube, the new trailer for sets up the game's narrative while also teasing players with some of the disturbed characters they'll encounter during their visit to the town.
One person who's earning plenty of praise is Eddie Dombrowski, an NPC some were worried wouldn't make it into the game given how little of him has been shown in previous videos. Yet that's not the case as Eddie is definitely in the remake and he looks excellent; many commenters have commended Bloober Team for bringing the character to life without losing his identity in the upgrade.
Rather than just deliver the exact same game again, Bloober Team is reimagining Silent Hill 2 in a way that celebrates but doesn't erase the original.
It's not just Eddie who's earning plenty of praise as the community is also finally excited to see Mary framed through the lens of an eerie videotape that will undoubtedly be familiar to fans. It's comforting to see such important NPCs recreated with such an eye for detail and certainly helps reassure doubters that Bloober Team knows what it's doing with. Still, that wasn't always the case as enthusiasts have long called into question whether the remake will adequately capture the spirit of the original PlayStation 2 title.
