Famitsu has released the latest weekly data for hardware and physical software sales in Japan, and where the latter are concerned, there are a number of new releases in this week’s top 10. The top spot is taken by rhythm action game Touhou Danmaku Kagura: Phantasia Lost, which sold over 16,000 copies, while in second place, Astro Bot has got off to a decent start with over 12,000 units sold.
Another new entry in the charts is Capcom’s Ace Attorney Investigations Collection, with its Nintendo Switch coming in at No. 3, having sold over 10,000 units. A handful of Nintendo’s evergreen sellers also occupy places in the top 1, including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at No. 4, Nintendo Switch Sports at No. 5, Animal Crossing: New Horizons at No. 7, and Ring Fit Adventure at No. 10.
Meanwhile, on the hardware front, the Nintendo Switch is once again the best-seller, moving over 67,000 units over the course of the week. The PS5 – which recently surpassed 6 million units sold in Japan – saw another price increase in the region earlier this month, following which it has seen a significant drop in sales for the console, selling over 11,000 units over the course of the week, roughly a third of what it managed the week prior.
